For those of you who don’t know, us #zanagirls LOVE to travel.
Travelling the globe is something I have always longed to do. I crave food from different cultures, I obsess about the architecture in foreign places and I love immersing my self in a different way of living.
The wunderlust gene. I must have it.
This year April I was lucky enough to head to Asia, not the whole of Asia but a little part of it. We met family in Singapore first and then headed to Thailand which I will write about in the next Travel Dairy.
Singapore is a beautiful place, small in size but packed with things to see! Lucky for us we had a personal tour guide, we were only there for four days but we managed to fill our quick four days with plenty of adventure.
Top places to see:
– Marina Bay Sands
– Orchard Road
– Sentosa
– Haji Lane
– Pa Sat Festival Market
– Ya Kun Kaya Toast
– Marina Bay Sands
Photographed is the view from Ku Du Ta, a night club on the top of Marina Bay Sands, it is spectacular. The country is highly urbanised and little of the original vegetation remains. The country’s territory has consistently expanded through land reclamation.
– Orchard Road
Orchard Road is a 2.2 kilometre-long boulevard that is the retail and entertainment hub of Singapore. It is a huge tourist attraction, in addition to being the most popular shopping enclave in the city-state. The Architecture along Orchard road is quite something.
– Sentosa
Sentosa is one of the small islands just off of Singapore, you can get there by tram or car. Key attractions include theme parks, hotels, spa, casino, and more. We visited the Aquarium but wish we had had more time to visit Universal Studios. PS: Garrett caramel popcorn is to DIE for.
-Haji Lane
Haji Lane is a little piece of heritage found in Singapore, it is a quaint little street filled with beautiful shops and cafes. Near Haji lane there is a Cat Cafe!!! You pay $13 and get 1 hour to sip your tea/coffee amongst a few kitties… I also got to meet one of our Zana Stockists, Lenya owns a store called Mondays off. It is such a sweet little store filled with products from all over the world.
– Pa Sat Festival Market
The historic market Lau Pa Sat offers a winning combination of graceful colonial architecture, a long standing heritage and delicious food. This day and night market has just under gone a $4 million renovation and my is it lovely.
– Ya Kun Kaya Toast
From its humble beginnings as a modest coffee stall in the 1940s, the name of Ya Kun has become synonymous with unparalleled kaya toast (pure deliciousness) and irresistibly fragrant condense milk tea, enjoyed amidst a cosy atmosphere.
I had such an amazing adventure and can’t wait to visit again.
